Spaghetti Pie

Ingredients

  • 12 oz cooked spaghetti
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2/3 C Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 1/2 C marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 C low-fat cottage cheese
  • 2 t dried oregano
  • 2 C shredded mozzarella

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Combine cooked pasta, egg whites and Parmesan cheese in a bowl
  3. Press pasta into 9x13 greased bake dish to fo a “crust”
  4. Cook ground beef, drain and add marinara sauce & set aside
  5. In separate bowl, combine cottage cheese, oregano, egg yolks and 1/2 of mozzarella cheese
  6. Spread cottage cheese mixture over spaghetti then top with meat sauce
  7. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese
  8. Cover with nonstick foil
  9. Bake 45min, remove foil and bake another 20min.
  10. Remove from oven and let stand for 5+min before slicing and serving.
