Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup bread flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2½ cups bread flour
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 to ½ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 120 grams tangzhong (just a little over half of above recipe)
  • 3 Tablespoons butter (cut into small pieces, softened at room temperature)
  • 1½ to 2 Tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • Egg wash (1 egg with a bit of milk or water)
