Lion House Apple Pie

Recipe of Lion House Apple Pie by chidrecipes

Ingredients

  • 5 Apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 C water
  • 1C sugar
  • 2 tbls flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tbls lemon juice
  • 2 tbls butter
  • 2 pie crusts

Steps

  1. Put bottom crust in pie pan
  2. Simmer apples in water until they wilt
  3. Mix dry ingredients
  4. Spread 1/2 over pie crust in the pan
  5. Lift apples from the water and place over sugar mixture
  6. Add 1/4 C liquid and lemon juice.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture
  8. Roll. Fit and seal top crust
  9. Brush with milk, sprinkle with sugar
  10. Bake at 425 for 30 to 40 minutes. until nicely browned
