Ingredients
2 C sugar
1 3/4 C water
1 t vanilla
2 t orange juice
12 oz fresh cranberries
1 C sure fine sugar
Steps
Combine 2C sugar, water, vanilla & OJ in saucepan.
Heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved but do not allow to boil.
remove from heat & allow to cool for a few minutes so berries won’t pop
Pour berries in syrup & stir
After syrup is at room temp, cover berries in syrup with plastic wrap & refrigerate overnight.
Next day, lay wax paper on baking sheet pan. Scatter 1c sugar on paper.
Strain berries & roll in sugar til fully covered.
Allow berries to completely dry on wax paper. Store in airtight container in cool spot.
NOTE: strained syrup can be stored for a future batch!
