Greek Creamed Macaroni

Ingredients

  • 1 box ziti or mostaccioli noodles
  • 1 quart milk
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 cup romano cheese
  • 1/2 pint whipped cream

Steps

  1. Boil noodles for 20 mins in salted water
  2. Drain noodles and set aside
  3. Add milk, butter and salt into a pot
  4. Simmer for 20 mins until it coats the wooden spoon
  5. Remove heat. Add 1/2 cup romano cheese and mix
  6. Coat 9x13 pan with layer of butter and sprinkle lightly with romano or parmesan.
  7. Then add macaroni. Add 1tbsp butter on top and add a little grated cheese
  8. Top with whipped cream.
  9. Bake at 450 for 20 mins until golden brown
