Fig, Prosciutto, Gorgonzola & Arugula Pizza with Hot Honey
Ingredients
• ½ lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 2 shallots, thinly sliced
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ⅓ cup fig jam
• 1½ oz Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
• 3 fresh figs, sliced
• 2 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced
• 1 cup fresh arugula
• Hot honey, for drizzling
Steps
1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté shallots and garlic until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add thyme and salt, then remove from heat.
3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
4. Spread fig jam evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
5. Distribute the shallot mixture over the jam, then sprinkle Gorgonzola cheese on top.
6. Arrange fig slices and prosciutto over the cheese.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
8. Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh arugula. Drizzle with hot honey before serving
