Creamy chicken with wild rice

Ingredients
1 lb chicken (cooked & chopped into bite-size pieces)
1 box wild rice
1 C chopped yellow onion
1 C diced carrots
1 C diced celery
7 T butter (divided)
4 1/2 C chicken broth
1/4 t each thyme, marjoram, sage & rosemary
1 chopped garlic clove
1/2 C flour
1 1/2 C milk
1/2 C heavy cream
Salt & pepper
Steps
Prepare rice according to directions on package.
while rice is cooking, dice veggies
in separate pot, melt 1T butter. Add onion, carrots & celery. Saute for 4 minutes. Add garlic & saute 30 seconds longer.
add chicken broth & seasonings. Increase heat to medium, add chicken & bring to boil.
When rice is ready, add to pot.
In rice pot, add 6T butter. Mix flour & milks in separate bowl. Slowly add milk mixture to butter. Whisk vigorously until it thickens.
add milk mixture to soup pot along with chicken. Stir well and remove from heat.
