Chili Cheeseburgers with Fried Onions

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 (15 oz) can chili
  • 2 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • 1/2 (2.8 oz) container french fried onions

Steps

  1. Season patties with salt and pepper. Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat 5-6 minutes per side or until no longer pink in the centers. Top each with 1 slice cheese, and let stand until melted.
  2. Meanwhile, heat chili according to directions on can
  3. Serve patties on buns topped with desired amount of chili and fried onions.
  4. Note: you can serve the remaining chili for lunch next day as a hot dog topping.
