Apple and Tart Cherry Crumble

Ingredients

  • Fruit filling
  • 6 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced thin
  • 3/4 c. dried tart cherries
  • 1/2 c. golden raisins
  • 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • topping
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • Margarine

Steps

  1. In large bowl, combine apples, cherries, raisins, walnuts, white sugar, and 1/4 c. brown sugar.
  2. Sprinkle with lemon juice and mix.
  3. Spray 7x11" baking dish with cooking spray.
  4. Pour apple-cherry mixture into dish. Set aside.
  5. Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Blend in remaining 3/4 c. brown sugar and egg whites into flour mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with margarine.
  8. Bake at 350° for 35–40 minutes until top is golden brown and apples are tender.
  9. Serve warm or cold.
